IMSL ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF A SECURE MEMBER PORTAL FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP

Colombo 7th April 2016, The Institute of Management of Sri Lanka is proud to announce the launch of a secure member portal for its members in addition to its official website www.imsl.lk. This portal will allow members to own a membership account secured with unique credentials.

This portal access will be limited to all active members and access will be granted by an invitation generated by Secretariat of the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka with a unique access credentials. Members may log into their user-friendly account and access important member only information in a way like never before. IMSL Member Portal will deliver self-service tools to verify membership profile, current membership status, payments and dues, and many more.

Updating of membership records has been a challenge over the past, however with new IMSL member portal a member can update their latest information with few clicks. IMSL will also use this portal to communicate information such as special notices, event calendar, special discount schemes, merchandise products such as Ties, T Shirts, Car Stickers, etc to its membership.

The Sub Committee for Information Technology have already started work to introduce a secure internet payment gateway to enable members to make all payments from anywhere through the member portal.  IMSL expects that all members will find this member portal useful, and a tool to maintain a regular interaction with the institute. The Sub Committee for Information Technology led by Mr. Prasad Wijesuriya takes the ownership of this project with the guidance of the President Maj. Gen (rtd) Upul Perera and the Council of Management of IMSL.

MAJ. GEN. UPUL PERERA RE-ELECTED IMSL PRESIDENT COLOMBO JUNE 27,2015.    At the 37th AGM of the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) held at the Grand Oriental Hotel recently, Major General Upul Perera (retd) was re-elected as the President. Anver Dole the immediate Past President was pro-tem Chairman for the election, and installed the newly elected President and administered the Oath of Office, in the presence of a large and distinguished gathering. Four senior members of IMSL were upgraded as Fellows and were presented with their medallions and certificates by the President, Major General Upul Perera. The five Fellows upgraded include the newly appointed Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshall Gagan Bulathsinhala, Planters Association Chairman Roshan Rajadurai, Financial and Banking Institutions Association former Chairman Dr. Shirley Perera, Prudential Shipping Chairman/MD and IMSL outgoing VP Rohitha Mendis, and Emerald Shirts GM and IMSL Hony. Secretary Saroj Lamahewa. Several Associates and Members also received their certificates from Anver Dole, Rohitha Mendis and Hony. Treasurer Errol Smith, who was elected as a Vice President at the AGM. Saroj Lamahewa tabled the Annual Report, and Errol Smith presented the audited Statements of Account. The AGM was followed by fellowship, cocktails and dinner.    

IMSL LAUNCHES MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY INDEX (MCI) IN SRI LANKA In 2003 the New Zealand Institute of Management developed a Management Capability Index.  In management and leadership research terms, it was a world first. The survey, on which the index is based, is now conducted in a number of countries including India, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, and was made possible due to membership in the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO). The Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) is the National Management Organization (NMO) representing Sri Lanka in the AAMO.   Management capability is arguably the single most important success factor in building business capability.  This understanding in no small measure accounts for the fact that a steadily increasing number of countries are using the index to measure organisational performance and simultaneously keep individual enterprises focused on practices that enhance capability.
